Got x2 5 watt lamps, a light "pen" and head touch on helmet. So I got light in any form(only need 1 at a time).
Food 6% drink, gels and my comfort food of pork pies and coke.
Going for full solo, so going to have to loop of to replenish.
It’s just changing the bike, corse and time of day.
Mr fish…..I can guess
try at 25 mph on a tt bike with the right wind………windscreen wipers going on cars with the sun out!
Brian, quick guineas for me!

Racing AndyA; Hoping to see the top of the mountain this time!
Big Willy – just torn a calf so not sure I’ll be running much – then again I don’t suppose many others will either
Clive: day after doing the Grisedale horseshoe fell race. On a mission after missing out on L’Alpe double due to twisted ankle. Will be faster than last year. Hoping for the full swim. Look out for the shuffler up the steps to the ridge! Beautful turquiose Bianchi. Too much info blah blah blah apols
GeorgeL – going very very slowly down Kirkstone, not screaming like a girl and not falling off. (riding a red cervelo soloist)
Grissom : Helvellyn virgin and seriously undertrained but couldn’t resist the place of a club mate has had to give up
Jaffa : Grey Boardman, pink rucksack, limping up Hel, hoping for a shortened swim
Joelene – on my pink bike, just looking to get around it with fear off the scramble!!
Kevin : Riding a white cervelo r3, looking forward to a beasting on Sunday
RichP: First time @ Helvellyn; riding a USPS trek 5200 Blue and white kit, probably seen taking photos on the run (its my fun race after Lanza and a long hard season; so probably pootling and smiling my head off too) Can’t wait.
Rooster – Riding new Cervelo P2, screaming like a girl down Kirkstone!
Shadydive – Swim, bike, crawl
Show Boater – Helvellyn virgin !!
Slow swimmer – Hoping for ultra cold water so swim is cut short again.
Stevie Mc – sporting a Craven Energy Trisuit & riding a black Trek E11
Stivrunning- Struggling "the struggle"
Toyota_Crown – erm making Rooster’s new Cervelo look stoopid on my yellow SoftRide and powerwalking past you all on the first uphill
trilathon- red p2,red aero helmet, red face … looking to survive the swim, put a fast ride in and run/trot all the way round the hill ( apart from that precipitous edge bit ) that’s the plan anyway !
Wakefield_Guy – one of 15+ Wakey Tri Club contingent. Will be in yellow & black club kit, on PlanetX road bike with red Catlike aero lid and mostly struggling.
Rich-C – Ego writing cheques my body won’t cash!
theNoor – Very excited… Helvellyn number 5 for me.
Boocat- putting it out of my mind, hoping it’ll go away and now wondering "shouldn’t i have done some more training for this?"
chris green – Hoping the swim goes ahead and wearing Ashurst BC black and white kit riding a Kuota Kharma
drdjpower – currently carbo-loading on Laphroaig and cheese, looking forward to it.

Theres too much talk of training going on, and i feel all alone in my cheesecake eating, beer drinking bubble…. |
This week I’ve done a fair bit of training. Even swam twice.
But, I’ve also eaten a whole Tesco Raspberry Cheescake, 2 large family bags of crisps, numerous bottles of beer, and had a massive BBQ today. Up to 96kg now
Now at work. Looking forward to a busy shift!!

I bet the idiot who mad the decision about disc wheels has never used one themselves otherwise they would have known they are perfectly ok in the wind and handling. Its the front wheel you have to worry about.

True, but the key is also being able to run 400m 105 times over in pretty much identical times, regardless of whether the mile markers are present in the right places and whether your stopwatch is working or not. You will learn this on a track or measured short circuit better than anywhere else. Om the day, you need to set off at the correct pace from the very first 400m and be able to repeat over and over, adjusting slightly each time if you are going too slow or fast. This skill is not sent to you with your race number, and does not magically appear on the startline, but is learned by training, mainly at faster than race pace, until you can accurately gauge times and distances covered by feel alone.
